We are Powered by Volunteers

At Dress for Success NSW & ACT, we have a fantastic group of Volunteers who help drive our success. We rely on the generosity and commitment of our Volunteers to continue our operations. Our Volunteers are involved in the following activities:
  • Our signature Styling programs (In-person and Virtual); sessions are one hour with Clients walking away with a fully styled outfit to present themselves well at an interview or important life event.
  • Stock management; receiving and sorting through clothing donations for our showroom and our fundraising fashion sales
  • Assisting with our Career Support Program including facilitating workshops and webinars via the Dress for Success Career Hub, providing Mock Interviews, Resume Assistance and Interview Preparation and Practice, and Career Coaching
  • Promoting Dress for Success to a range of referral services as well as attending community events and job fairs (Referral Agency Working Group)
  • Assisting with fundraising events such as our popular pre-loved fashion sales, In Conversation events, community outreach and more.
Volunteering with Dress for Success NSW & ACT is a rewarding experience. You will have the opportunity to work with Clients to help them achieve success in their lives and meet other like-minded women along the way.

Become a Volunteer

We are always looking for passionate individuals to join our Volunteer community and support the work we do. Attendance at one of our Volunteer Information Sessions is a prerequisite to becoming a registered Volunteer with us.

Volunteer Induction Sessions

The session will cover the following topics:
  • Who we are, what we do
  • Our Clients and stakeholders
  • The volunteering roles and opportunities available
  • What to expect as a Volunteer with Dress for Success NSW & ACT
  • Tour of premises including our client styling and volunteer sorting areas
To assist our charity with administration costs we ask for a non-refundable, tax-deductible donation of $20 when you book to attend a Volunteer Induction Session.

  • This session is online via Zoom and will not include a tour of the premises
Friday, 21 June 2024 from 10.00am – 12.00pm
  • This session is face to face at Dress for Success, Inner West Sustainability Hub, Lot 1, 7 Prospect Road, Summer Hill

Team Building

With operations largely powered by Volunteers, Dress for Success NSW & ACT loves to work with groups who want to share their time and experience for the good of the community. Whether it is through Team Building, holding your own event with us as charity partner, or hosting a clothing drive, we are here to help you get your team involved. Your day may include:
  • Sorting donated clothing for our signature Styling Experience service.
  • Refreshing the appearance of our bespoke, Client-focused showrooms.
  • Stock management and ensuring donated items are clean, steamed, and well presented.
  • Preparing excess stock for our Pop-Up Fashion Sales
Your session:
  • is suited for groups of 5-12
  • will run from 10am – 1.30pm, includes a morning tea
  • will follow a program with supervised activities including clothing sorting and trial Styling
  • cost is $2,000 plus GST
